Why Order a Pest Inspection?

The damage caused by timber pest infestation is often invisible until major damage has been done.  Termites and other timber pests generally do their damage in the dark places in a house, like the subfloor or inside walls.  A Pest Inspection report will provide you details of any visible evidence of a current or past pest attack at the property.  Qualified inspectors know what to look for and where to look.  For information about Building Inspection Reports please click here.  It is common for a building and timber pest inspection to be carried out at the same time (often by the same inspector).

A major benefit of a pre-purchase Pest Inspection is the reassurance and peace of mind it provides. You will have the confidence of knowing that whether there are any current or previous timber pest attacks and that your investment decision has been made with full knowledge about the property. The cost of the inspection is very small when compared to the investment you make in the property.

Pest inspections can also save you a considerable amount of money. A property with timber pest damage can easily require thousands of dollars in remedial work and severely affect the resale potential. A property with some timber pest damage may still be the right property. However, a pest inspection report will identify any potential issues so you can choose whether to proceed with the purchase or not, at the right price. Timber pest infestation cannot be identified easily by buyers and pests such as termites can cause considerable damage to properties.

When choosing a Pest Inspector, you should ensure that they are experienced and hold the necessary qualifications and insurances.

Australian Standards apply to both building and pest inspections and all inspections should meet these standards.

The information contained in a Pest Inspection report should be considered in association with other market intelligence such as an assessment of the local property market and recent sales of comparable properties.

What do I get?
Pest Inspection reports are delivered as a comprehensive written record of the visual inspection of the property by a qualified inspector. The report details information uncovered during the inspection and suggests appropriate ways to have them rectified.  Please note that the inspector is unable to undertake any invasive inspection of the property that could cause any damage to the property.
